Having gained an Honours Degree by studying from home when her children were young, Alison returned to full-time working and fell into legal work quite by chance. She gained a position as a Legal Secretary with a local firm of solicitors and she has no doubt that it was the Degree that gave her the role.
She found matrimonial matters just fell into place and her previous experience before children of working in banks and financial institutions gave her a good grasp of the financial issues of clients divorcing. Within a couple of years Alison had changed firms and within a short time had taken on a full-time fee earning role with her own caseload.
Alison now has over 20 years experience with divorce and matrimonial financial matters and has become a member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and a Fellow of the Institute of Paralegals.
Her legal knowledge is extremely good, and she possesses an excellent eye for detail with an understanding of what would be a fair and sensible settlement.
Often her analysis has been accurately undertaken and expressed before solicitors representing the other party have carried out this task.
As well as dealing with her own caseload, Alison also assists our Principal, Adrian Bressington, with cases of a more complex nature.
Alison is also a founder member of AB Family Law and so has been with the firm from its beginning.
